Safe Access is a specialized program within the Summit County Child Support Enforcement Agency that supports survivors of all forms of domestic violence, including physical, sexual, emotional, economic, and psychological abuse, as well as threats of harm.

The program works to reduce barriers for families seeking services by promoting economic stability and safeguarding the rights of children and their caregivers, ensuring they can safely access the support to which they are entitled. Participants receive individualized case oversight from a dedicated team trained in victims’ rights and experienced in providing trauma-informed support.

Safe Access collaborates with county and community partners to connect vulnerable children and caregivers with essential resources. Key partners include Hope and Healing, Victim Assistance, Community Legal Aid, and Family Support Matters.

Our team is guided by a single priority: acting in the best interest of each child and caregiver based on their unique circumstances. Services may include:

  • Adjusting or pausing enforcement actions that could increase risk to a child or caregiver
  • Coordinating with the court and child support staff to ensure safety planning is integrated throughout the case process
  • Providing alternative communication and payment methods to reduce stress or potential exposure
  • Offering in-person or virtual court accompaniment for child support or protection order hearings

For safety concerns, assistance, or general questions, please email Summit_Safe_Access@jfs.ohio.gov  or call 330-643-2765 and ask for Safe Access.
