Summit County Prosecutor Elliot Kolkovich was sworn into office on February 21, 2024, after more than 13 years of experience as a career prosecutor both in Summit County and as an Assistant United States Attorney for the Northern District of Ohio.

He is a proactive prosecutor dedicated to the relentless pursuit of justice and the consistent application of the law. Prosecutor Kolkovich has dedicated his career to implementing and improving critical initiatives that hold offenders accountable, prevent crime from occurring in the first place, and streamline the administration of justice.

Upon his admission to practice law in May 2011, Prosecutor Kolkovich accepted a position in the Summit County Prosecutor’s Office’s Children Protection Unit, where he sought to keep vulnerable children safe in abuse, neglect, and dependency cases. He moved to the Adult Felony Unit of the Criminal Division in February 2012, where he handled every level of felony offense as a courtroom prosecutor before being promoted to supervisor of the Grand Jury Unit. In that role, Prosecutor Kolkovich transformed the Office’s operations by streamlining the charges contained in indictments and overseeing the implementation of the Office’s case-management system.

He served as an Assistant United States Attorney for the Northern District of Ohio for eight months in 2022 and 2023 before returning to the Summit County Prosecutor’s Office as the Community Outreach Prosecutor until he was appointed County Prosecutor in February 2024. He was elected to a full term by the citizens of Summit County in November 2024.
