As an intern at the Summit County Prosecutor’s Office, you will have a diverse learning experience. Undergrad interns help with community outreach, observe court hearings and trials and help with special projects. Legal interns help with legal research, criminal cases and observing court hearings and trials. Summer interns will go on industry field trips to community partners, the Summit County Jail, the Summit County Court House and the City of Akron Safety Communications Center.
Hours are flexible, but summer interns are expected to work 35 hours per week during the term of the internship. Summer internships are paid. For the fall and spring internship periods, we can only accept applicants who will perform the internship for college or law school credit. You must pass a background check to serve as an intern.
The Prosecutor’s Office will consider extending summer interns into the school year based on performance and interest of the intern. The Office also considers successful interns for ultimate full-time placement upon graduation if positions are available.
